Additional Bus Services For Embsay

North Yorkshire Council (NYC) have made some changes to bus services in and around Skipton. These service improvements are being funded by NYC through Department for Transport Bus Service Improvement Plan funding.

The services are all operated by North Yorkshire Council Fleet Services and include the Embsay to Skipton service. The new timetable will run from the 30th November.

Service 14 Skipton – Embsay

Introduction of additional Monday to Friday journeys departing Embsay at 08.10 and Skipton at 17.10 hours.
Introduction of Saturday service hourly from 09.00 to 16.00 except 12.00 hours.

Embsay with Eastby Parish Council have been pushing for these additional services for a long time, (most recently supported by Cllr David Noland). In addition, numerous residents have also lobbied NYC directly – which really helped drive the message home.

These improvements are in place for a 1 year trial period initially, but NYC are hopeful that with sufficient support they will become a permanent part of the timetable.
