After a lengthy delay, North Yorkshire Council have made a final decision on the introduction of 20mph zones in Embsay and Eastby – a copy of which is included below. The scheme that has been approved is the one originally proposed by North Yorkshire Council in response to many years of lobbying by the Parish Council on behalf of our residents, with additional support from Cllr David Noland at NYC.
Attached to this article are the original maps and associated documents that illustrate and explain the scheme that has been approved.
Earlier this week, the Corporate Director, in consultation with the Executive Member for Highways and Transportation, considered the objections received to the advertised order. The permanent introduction of the separate 20mph zones as advertised and as shown on the original plan has been approved. The Assistant Chief Executive (Legal and Democratic Services) has been authorised to seal the relevant Traffic Regulation Order in light of the objections received.
The original layout will now be ordered and the scheme implemented later this financial year.
