Please help keep our paths and passages clear
A reminder to residents in Embsay and Eastby that hedges, bushes, shrubs and other plants growing from private properties can quickly become overgrown and obstruct pavements, footpaths and passages.

We appreciate that gardens are an important part of our villages and that vegetation grows quickly at this time of year. However, where plants are encroaching onto paths, they can make them difficult for pedestrians to use safely – particularly for people with mobility difficulties, those using wheelchairs or pushchairs, and anyone walking with children.
Please take a moment to check the boundaries of your property and, where necessary, cut back any vegetation that is overhanging or obstructing a public path. Keeping paths clear is everyone’s responsibility and a little attention now can make a big difference to those using them.
Thank you for helping to keep Embsay and Eastby tidy, accessible and welcoming for everyone.
